“Enter one or more keywords here” under your search bar isn’t going to help your users. If they managed to find your site they’ll know how to use a search bar.
They also know what links are for. Don’t tell them to click here.
When a user clicks onto your site, you earn a small fraction of their attention. Their eyes dart around furiously until they find what they need or get bored. If you waste their attention telling them things they already know, they’ll get frustrated and leave.
Design simple sites that don’t need instructional postits.
